Blog Awards

Marcy and Lisa have been awarded two more blog awards by our fellow bloggers. Thanks a bunch! We’re super excited.

Versatile Blogger Award

For this award we’re supposed to list 7 things about ourselves, and then award it to 15 other deserving blogs. Thanks to April Denton for the award – check her out.

Marcy: I’m a stray animal magnet; I’m too opinionated for my own good (or so my husband says); I’m a nerd who loves WoW, Battlestar Gallactica, and Star Trek; I’m a Canadian married to an American; I love playing my flute; I’m very shy; I need a contingency plan for my contingency plans.

Lisa: I collect salt & pepper shakers, I’m brutally honest, I’m a country girl trapped in the city, I have 3 kids, been married 14 years (to the same man), I’m super shy, and teachers request my chocolate chip cookies for classroom potlucks. 🙂

We’re passing this award on to:

Janet Sketchley – Speculative, Sporadic…and Slightly Odd

Mike Wells – The Green Water

Lindsay Cummings – Lindsay Writes

Kathy Jenzen – Kathy’s Call

Patrick Thunstrom – A Digital Magician

Pay It Forward Blog Award

Big thanks to Jessica O’Neal for giving us the Pay It Forward blog award. Make sure you check out her blog Sexy Little Nerd.

The idea of the Pay It Forward blog award is to introduce people to new blogs. In your post, list, describe, and link to three blogs that you enjoy reading and know that others would enjoy as well. (Found 2 graphics for this award, they’re both cool so I put them both up.)

We’re giving the Pay It Forward blog award to:

Myndi Shafer cracked me up with her Silly Soapbox: How the invention of the dishwasher makes up for the invention of pantyhose post. Make sure you check out her blog!

Gene Lempp his post on the Silk Road was fascinating. Looking forward to reading more about how archaeology and history blend for story.

Angela Wallace‘s blog caught my attention because she has a little bit of everything (French toast recipes next to instructions on how to decorate a pumpkin with sharpies next to a moving story about how she expected to die before 18), but all in a very consistent voice.

Liebster Blog Award!

Girls With Pens was just honored with the Liebster Award! We’re very excited.

The Criteria: The Liebster Blog Award is meant to showcase bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers. This is all done in the spirit of pay-it-forward.

The Rules: You must mention and link to the person who awarded you the Liebster, and mention 5 other blogs with fewer than 200 followers you think worthy of the Liebster.

So, we brainstormed and decided we’d pass on the Liebster to 5 GWP blogging followers. So, thanks to Rebekah Loper at blackanddarknight for giving us the Liebster.

The 5 blogs we’re passing the Leibster on to:

Stephanie NickelFree2Soar – Steph has been one of our most faithful followers, commenting and encouraging us every step of the way. Her blog is full of encouraging posts. Check it out!

Tiffany WhiteOoo Factor-Things That Make You Say ‘Oooo’ – Totally love her blog title. Make sure you check out Tiffany’s blog for all your TV news.

Rebecca Enzor – Rebecca has just moved her blog to rebeccaenzor.com. She has great variety posting 3 days a week. Make sure you ‘stick around’ for her Sticky Note Stories.

David Chamber of Nautilus – David’s response to our writing prompt about childhood memories made us laugh out loud. Check out his honest musings and rants about the writing life.

Jami GoldBeach Reads With Bite! – Love the title. Jami writes paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Make sure you click over to Jami’s blog and meet her – but ‘normal need not apply’ 🙂
